ARTIST STATEMENT:
My goal is to evoke joy with colorful and expressive brushwork as my signature style. The ocean is my biggest inspiration and my two young boys are my biggest motivation.
I am passionate about ocean conservation, often creating art celebrating the beauty of the ocean and its coastline. I hope to inspire others to join in my mission to protect it, clean it, and leave it better than we found it.

ABOUT THE STUDIO:
It's a small but inspiring space, in our historical home on an island just off of Sarasota Florida. I can hear the boaters and sea birds, and sometimes when there is a hurricane, our whole property floods. But we are safe- tucked up high in the native palms and huge poinciana trees that bloom bright red when the tarpon run, and banyan trees that have been here for an eternity. Our home was originally built on the ground level, but is now raised up for safety. We love this old home and know it's worth preserving. My studio is full of found objects from our coastal adventures, inspiring treasures from my time studying art in Paris and Rome, and Palm Beach style antique furniture that I find for a low enough price so they aren't too precious to get paint on. I have always loved to garden, come from a farming family background, and even worked as a florist for a while, so there are lots of beautiful plants in the studio to keep me company. Watering them is part of my routine to let go of the day's busyness, be present, connect to the earth, and get into a creative mindset before I sit down to paint. There is also of course extra kid friendly art supply carts and extra easels for whenever my little boys want to come in and join in on painting.
