Framing
A frame can completely change the way a painting feels in a space. It adds warmth, presence, and personality. When chosen thoughtfully, it elevates the artwork without overpowering it.
There is no rush to decide right away. I always encourage collectors to focus on the painting first. Once it is complete and you see it come to life, the right framing choice often becomes clear.
Below, you will find the framing options available along with examples to help you visualize how different styles can transform the same piece. And truly, whatever frame you choose, as long as you love it, that is what matters most.
Framing Options
Ready to Hang
Your painting can be shipped wired and ready to hang, allowing you to handle framing on your end - if you want! Every painting I do is a gallery wrap canvas with painted sides, so they are complete and stunning on their own, as is.
This is a wonderful option if you’d like to see the piece in person first or if you’re working with an interior designer.
There is no additional cost for this option.
Professional Framing in Sarasota
If you live in the Sarasota area and prefer to select framing after seeing the painting, I can deliver the canvas to a trusted local professional framer. You can come in at your leisure and pick out the frame yourself. The Sarasota framers I use are VERY good at picking out the perfect custom frames that are timeless and showcase the art.
Estimated framing investment you handle with the framer directly: $350–$1,000.
Studio Floating Frame
For a seamless, gallery-style finish, I offer studio framing in a wooden floating frame prior to shipment. Floating frames allow the edges of the canvas to remain visible, creating a timeless and versatile look.
Available in white, light natural brown, dark walnut brown, or a gold leaf over wood. Max size for this is 24x30.
Estimated investment: $300–$700.
The right frame can completely transform a painting. Below, you’ll see the same spoonbill artwork styled four different ways — each creating a distinct look and feel.
As you explore the options, imagine the painting in your own space. The frame should complement both your home and the personality of the piece. Let’s find the one that feels just right!
White Floating Frame
Clean, timeless, and versatile. This frame works beautifully in light-filled, coastal, and transitional homes. It keeps the focus on the artwork while adding a crisp, finished look.
Gold Floating Frame
A modern take on a classic finish. This option adds warmth and sophistication while maintaining the clean lines of a floating frame. A beautiful choice for both contemporary and traditional homes.
Gold Bamboo Frame
Playful yet refined. Perfect for Palm Beach–inspired spaces, coastal chic interiors, or homes that love a little personality and texture.
Gold Plein Air Frame
Classic and elevated. This style pairs especially well with traditional interiors, Southern homes, and spaces with warm wood tones or antique accents.
Frames are available in a variety of colors and finishes. For example, you can view additional floating frame color options here.
I would be thrilled to guide you in selecting the perfect option for your space, taking into account your home’s style, the tones within the painting, and the overall feeling you want the piece to bring into the room.
Your painting is meant to be lived with and loved for years to come, and the right frame simply helps it feel right at home!
