“First Regatta” captures that special moment where a young sailor races in their first sailing Regatta. In this case, it was my sons and their friends racing in front of the Ringling Bridge for the first time. “First Regatta” was accepted into the @dalimuseum Impressionism Show!
It’s really an honor to be associated with this museum and artist in any way. Feeling so grateful. I’ve loved Dali as an artist and this particular museum since I first visited it as a young kid living in St. Pete.

To sell or not to sell? That is the dilemma with the best paintings. The best paintings are usually the ones with a strong emotional connection to myself, the passion and connection to the subject matter comes through in the painting - and yet….those are the ones that are the hardest to let go. Like this one of three little sailors in their first Sarasota regatta. It started out as it could have been any kid, but in the end turned out to resemble my two boys and their best friend. For now- this one is going framed in my husband’s office, but many more Sarasota sailing paintings are in the works and so this is the first of many. Surely one day soon I will be able to find someone who treasures sailing and the ocean and nature and adventure and family time and all those feelings bundled into this art from me, and it will find a home with them. For now, this will become a limited giclee fine art, available on paper or canvas.
