Creating this Mother’s Day collection was a deeply personal and joyful experience.
Known for my spoonbill paintings, I felt called to paint my first mom and baby spoonbills, a challenge that took me into hidden nesting spots and quiet observation. The series also features groups of spoonbills in tender, everyday scenes: flying in formation, skimming low over water, gathering near mangroves, and resting as a flock.
Each 8x10 original acrylic on canvas is named after a meaningful quality or trait that celebrates what I most admire in mothers—traits I value in myself as a mother and in my own, with many more contributed by the wonderful community on Instagram.
From the nurturing mom with her baby to the graceful flyer against a pink sunset or the tight-knit group simply being together, I hope every woman—whether mother to children, pets, or her community—finds a piece that speaks to her heart and honors her unique motherhood journey.
